Twelve Gloucestershire businesses have today been recognised for their contribution to nature at an exclusive business awards held at the Star Bistro near Cheltenham. Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust acknowledged twelve local businesses, leaders, landowners and organisations in their 2013 Nature Works business awards. The event, sponsored by former winners Ecotricity, is supported by Diane Savory and David Owen from GFirst, Local Enterprise Partnership.

The award winners are:

Members Business of the Year Award Winner: Bottle Green Drinks, Stroud & Highly Commended: Western Power Distribution & Haboakus for their Applewood Development in Stroud.

Exceptional Commitment by a Small Business to Nature Winner: Days Cottage, Gloucester & Highly Commended: The Organic Shop & Cafe at Abbey Home Farm, Cirencester.

Award for the Business that Encourages Employee Volunteering to Support Nature. Winner: Chelsea Building Society, Cheltenham.

Exceptional Contribution by a Land Owner to Gloucestershire’s Living Landscape. Winner: Hartpury College, near Gloucester & Highly Commended: Rendcomb College near Cirencester.

Outstanding Contribution to Inspiring & Educating about the Natural Environment. Winner: Severn Vale Housing Society, Tewkesbury & Highly Commended: Westley Farm near Stroud.

Outstanding Contribution to Nature in Gloucestershire by a Business Leader. Winner: Roger Budgeon, of The Green Shop Group, Bisley near Stroud.

Outstanding Contribution to Nature by a Gloucestershire Business. Winner: Creed Food Services, Staverton, Gloucestershire.
