Film channel Groundwork writes: In Stroud for International Women’s Day on March 8th 2017, Liz Terry, inspired by attending the London Women’s March earlier that year, invited Yael Hochenburg to join her to run a women and girls celebration event. Liz’s vision was to gather women and girls across the generations to sing and dance together in the centre of their town for strength, unity and connection in celebration of being a woman to mark International Women’s Day.

Liz shared several songs she has written for women’s empowerment/leadership plus an old favourite We Who Believe In Freedom by Sweet Honey In The Rock. Liz led rehearsals in Meme Bar Cafe and at the Centre For Science and Art before the event. Yael choreographed Nia moves to music and taught the moves to the whole group.

Together with over 100 women and girls of all ages showing up to join them, they sang and danced raising the energy to celebrate International Women’s Day whilst raising funds for local teen girls mentoring groups and an International Organisation Woman Kind working with women and girls in developing countries. #TogetherWeAreStronger #Womenrising
