Westfield Bridge and the adjoining remains of Westfield lock mark the start of what is now referred to as the “missing mile”. To commemorate this incredible action, and to launch a major funding bid for restoration of the Cotswold Canals between the Ocean at Stonehouse and Saul Junction, water was ceremonially poured by Mrs Prentice from the parapet of Westfield Bridge.
