The lyrics are about the beautiful part of the world that we live in, and take a wry look at the way of life, and the people that live here. The band, playing on this track, includes –

Mark Wilderspin – acoustic 12-string (DADGAD) guitar and lead vocals
Paul Bryant – bass guitar and backing vocals
Robert Holmes – electric guitar
Matt Gryspeerdt – violin
Julian McNicholas – keyboards
Tim Fish – pedal-steel guitar
Charlie Hart – drums and backing vocals

This song was written by singer and guitarist, Mark Wilderspin. It was recorded at Paul Bryant’s studio located in the beautiful chocolate-box village of Bisley, in the Cotswold Hills, just a few miles from Stroud, in Gloucestershire, England.

We have recently posted an alternative video for Stroud Life, with a re-mixed soundtrack, but we have added some interesting pictures of the local people and some of the scenery. This was prompted after a rather ‘odd’ edition of BBC’s Country File programme earlier in the year, where they managed to highlight some rather ‘alternative’ activities going on around here. We looked hard, to try and prove that they were wrong. But now we believe that they were probably right….see it on Stroud Community TV at: http://stroudcommunity.tv/wilderspin-stroud-life-musical-response-to-bbcs-country-file/

  1. […] Originally this video was intended to be an attempt to prove Country File wrong…..but sadly, they seem to have hit the nail bang on the head. So yes, we’re all a bit bonkers, but we’re proud of it. It’s meant to be fun…please don’t be offended if you find yourself somewhere in one of the video scenes….and don’t forget that our wonderful buskers need you to reward them with money. They really made this video something something special for us. Genuine thanks to them. For those that are interested in the music, there is also a studio video of the band, in the recording studio, creating the soundtrack. You can find it at: http://stroudcommunity.tv/wilderspin-stroud-life-studio-sessions/ […]
