Nimue Brown writes: ‘Filmed at Bill Jones’s open mic session Friday the 13th, unlucky in love, this is the first time I’ve ‘done’ a poem of my own in a public place. The piece was written specifically for the event’.

Unfortunately sound quality is not brilliant but poem great!

Here’s the advert for last night:

Miserable Malcolm and DJ Cousin It Selector Extraordinair present a special pre-Valentine’s night of misery, FRIDAY 13TH: UNLUCKY IN LOVE. DJ Cousin It will be spinning the saddest songs from her collection while Stroud’s most miserable poet will be compèring open mic spots featuring poems and true stories of heartbreak. There will also be short film clips featuring romantic unhappiness. Get the inevitable disappointment of Valentine’s day over early by coming to Friday 13th: Unlucky in Love, a night of heartache and misery. (If you’d like to contribute by reading a poem or true story*, you’d be very welcome. Please drop us a line here, or let us know on the night.). Let the sadness begin!
