Stroud on Water 2012 was a Family Festival Weekend, 2nd – 4th June, at Marling School Playing Field just outside Stroud town centre. This film takes a glimpse at some of the businesses, stall holders, canal boats and artists on one afternoon of the Festival which unfortunately saw some rain.
The Festival was organised by the Cotswold Canals Trust with help from many other organisations. They hosted the Inland Waterways Association’s annual Trailboat Festival which saw Stroudwater canal with many boats for the first time in over 100 years!
The canal is being restored and the first stretch, from Stonehouse through Stroud is the first part to open. 2012 is also the 40th anniversary of the Cotswold Canals Trust. See more at: http://www.stroudonwater.org.uk/

Not very representative of the event as a whole.
The event was about the canal and the boats, not just about the dance stage. And the weather was fine for most of the weekend. Must try harder…

We loved the Festival and the organisation and friendliness of the staff was first rate. It was a fantastic family orientated day and our food seem to go down really well.
