July 2017: restoration update at Bowbridge. Dr Val Kirby reviews the unblocking and restoration of Bowbridge bridge, which has been a massive project, and speaks about the reopened and resurfaced towpath and the restored Bowbridge lock. Stroud District Council is Lead partner in the Cotswold Canals partnership, and the work here is a wonderful example of professional contractors, volunteers and local Council achieving a beautiful result. For the first time since the 1960s, the towpath goes under the bridge.
