Stephen Fear grew up on a council estate and skipped most of his education – today he is a successful entrepreneur and millionaire. This is a talk that Stephen Fear gave to residents at Ark House; A homeless scheme for young people. Stephen came from a fragmented family background. As a child he was hyperactive and inquisitive so often went missing. Because his parents divorced when he was young he used the situation to avoid school and instead he learnt by reading books. He had many business ideas that made him a bit of money but his big business break came when he was 14. In this video Stephen talks about his experiences and shares lessons he has learnt along the way.

The ten life lessons he passed on, enabling him to become the successful entrepeneur he is today were:

  • If you make an agreement you stick to it.
  • You can change where you are and you can achieve things.
  • The power is with the person who walks away.
  • There’s nothing wrong with sharing what you make.
  • Stick to time!
  • Everything I do is judged on long-term relationships.
  • If you say something works, it must work.
  • If you’ve nothing to lose, go and ask.
  • It doesn’t matter where you are today, if I can do it, anyone can.
  • People will tell you it can’t be done but it can if it’s about what you want to do.
