This great inspiring community project in Wotton-under-Edge was from about 9 months ago. We’ve sneaked it into Stroud Community TV as at least one person in the film (!), is from this area and the whole project is about trying to involve other communities. This is what they say on their website:

Meet Me in Winter is a demonstration of what’s possible when people unite and speak openly – sharing their time, their dreams, their stories and their resources to achieve extraordinary things. Hundreds of people from one small community came together to record a song and a short film. They wanted to raise money to help others, but also to send out a message of solidarity and optimism in the dark months of the year. The project was inspired by the story of one person’s experience of depression during wintertime and how her community made all the difference to her when she really needed it.*

Now, the song has taken on a life of its own. People of all ages are learning it and singing it right around the world. And the one small community where it all began is inviting others, wherever they are, to sing with them. We want to make all our voices heard this winter and we would love you, your family, friends and community to join us.

So, if you support us in wanting to make a positive difference in the world…

If you recognise the beauty of all our faces, our voices, our stories, and our lives…

…please join us. See more at: http://www.meetmeinwinter.org/

You can donate directly to Mind, Shelter or Wotton Youth. Please help us to help them.

Because wherever you are in the world, if you like what we’re doing, we’d love you to be a part of Meet Me in Winter. Please spread the word, like us on Facebook, follow us on Twitter, do whatever you can think of to spread the word. Together we can do extraordinary things. Thank you!

You can see a whole host of other films from Meet Me in Winter at: http://www.youtube.com/user/meetmeinwinter/videos?view=0 In particular see Katie’s story here about why the project started.
