Convent Choir performing Nella Fantasia in The Convent Club chapel near Stroud. The Convent write: “Our Ladies choir have been working on a number of challenging pieces over the past few months including the beautiful ‘Speak to the Child of Love’ by Allen Koepke and Kurt Bestor’s haunting ‘Prayer for the Children’. These inspiring pieces are interspersed with some well known favourites such as Hamilton’s ‘Cry me a River’ and Briscusse’s ‘Pure Imagination’. The ladies have been working hard to master some challenging pieces in a variety of genres to improve there skills as individuals and as part of a choir. The Men are set to entertain you with there fabulous rendition of Bruno Mars’ ‘Billionaire’ and inspire you with Ginsberg’s beautiful setting of Shakespeare’s twelfth night poem ‘O Mistress Mine’. Only there second outing as a choir the men have come on leaps and bounds and promise some pieces that will bring a smile to anyone’s face. And as you would expect both choirs come together to offer you some rousing joint numbers to include ‘Somebody to Love’ (Queen) and ‘Down by the river to Pray’ (O brother where are thou?).”
