Cotswold Canals have just uploaded this film made by Robert Paget. They write: “Saturday 7th December 2013. Stroud Valley Canoe Club, under the skilled leadership of Tony Chalk, use the new slipway near to Strachan’s Close and the new power operated swingbridge (Gasworks) in Chestnut Lane. In a highly organized manner, they travel west to Foundry Lock (Dudbridge Upper Lock) and are the first craft to use the newly restored lock together with the short pound towards the lower lock, where restoration is at an advanced stage. The work completed here forms part of Phase 1A of the restoration of the Cotswold Canals, with funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund.”
