Robert Paget has just uploaded this film: A beautiful three storey brick built house alongside Dudbridge lock (Stroudwater navigation) Demolished in the mid 1970s to enlarge a car park. Until the mid 1960s the house had been occupied by the three Webber sisters, who were always to be seen cleaning windows, shaking mats and sheets out of the windows, and keeping the house and kitchen garden in good order. They always had a cheery neighbourly word or wave for passers by on the towpath, and on the rare occasions a tap washer or fuse needed repair, would call across the canal to find out if my Dad could do this. The property was owned by Stroud Metal Company
