Cotswold Canals with the latest update of Lodgemore Bridge, Stroudwater Navigation – November 2015
Work to replace Lodgemore bridge started in October 2015. With the old swingbridge craned out and being dismantled, excavation and piling are in full view of the Farson Digital water cam, allowing armchair restorers to see the rapid progress at this site. By early November, the trust maintenance boat “Wookey Hole” is able to pass through the site. The replacement bridge will be a stylish lifting structure, allowing full size craft to reach very close to Stroud. During construction works, vehicular access to factories and mills is via Chestnut Lane and Gasworks Bridge.
