Mandy Pellatt makes another great video of a local event for Stroud People – she writes: “The inaugural Stroud Charity Truck Pull Challenge, organised by The Door Youth Project. On bank holiday Monday, May 27th, Merrywalks in Stroud hosted a charity truck pull in aid of the Stroud-based youth project. Entertainment included RemedySounds, Ghost of Samantha – singer-songwriting sister of Harry Potter star Rupert Grint – and Jamma de Samba.” See more from Stroud People including photos here.

More than a dozen teams of 15 pulled eight-tonne lorries along the entire length of Merrywalks, starting at Rowcroft, circling the mini roundabout outside the old police station at the other end, then heading back to the starting point near the bottom of The Hill.

All proceeds from the afternoon’s event went to much-needed funds for The Door Youth Project – a Christian-based youth project, established in 1991, for the benefit of all young people aged 11 to 25. Do consider supporting this project by going to their website and donating.
