Update 22nd July 2015: A track about a friend who went through a difficult time:

In this film she sings the water is wide, a traditional folk song, only now learning that the origin is hard to define, but she first learnt it from a book that claimed it was Irish! Apparently Joan Baez and Bob Dylan did a version of this song too. Lyrics sung here are:

The water is wide,
I cant cross over,
And neither have I wings to fly.
There’ll be a boat that can carry two,
And both shall row,
My love and I.

There’ll be a ship who sails the sea,
She’s loaded deep,
As deep can be.
But not so deep as the love I’m in,
I know not if I sink or swim.

Love is gentle,
Love is fine,
The sweetest flower when first it’s new.
But love grows old and waxes cold,
And fades away like morning dew.

With thanks to Valentin Gerlier for first teaching me this song!
